What is High-Definition Liposuction?

High definition (hi-def) liposuction is an advanced liposculpting procedure that strategically sculpts the body by removing fat in problem areas while at the same time exposing and highlighting important muscle groups in the body to create natural contours. A youthful body is 3 dimensional, composed of light and shadows. If traditional liposuction is like painting with a broad brush, Vaser high-definition liposuction is more akin to painting with a fine brush.

Patient Testimonials

First & foremost I want to say Dr. Sieber is Awesome! He is a young, fresh & friendly Surgeon with a great bedside manner & a great team behind him. This review is long overdue but I wanted to make sure I was far enough along in my recovery to give an honest review. So this is how my journey begins… 11 months ago I started searching for surgeons in the Bay Area that specialize in Vaser Lipo. Today I am 9 months post op and for the first time in a long time I feel comfortable in my own skin, I wore a bikini for the first time in ages and I am so happy with my results. I highly recommend Dr. Sieber, he makes dreams come true!

There are a lot of good plastic surgeons out there but there’s only one that’s above them all- Dr. Sieber! An unbelievable skilled surgeon/sculptor. I’m almost 6 months post-op (mini tummy tuck/Lipo 360/j-Plasma) & still do a double take when I see myself in the mirror (that really me?!); his aesthetics will exceed your expectations. My incision was so meticulously closed- it’s fading beautifully. He also has a great knowledgeable team; I saw Sally NP-C for facial fillers last month, phenomenal! Loved how with less syringes I got better results than I had in the past with other injectors.

Vaser High-Definition Laser Technique

Vaser assisted liposuction allows for creation of a realistic, 3-dimensional shape to the treated areas. This is accomplished by treating superficial and deep layers of fat together with smooth transitions between the two for a more natural and muscular appearance.

VAL allows precise pockets of fat to be removed very closely to the skin and directly over the muscles. Removal of these small deposits exposes natural muscular contours which were not visible before. Because much of this fat is located alongside various muscle groups, its removal helps to create more muscular definition.

Dr. David Sieber a San Francisco plastic surgeon spent time with the pioneer of high definition liposuction, Dr. Alfredo Hoyos, in Colombia to learn his techniques for delivering incredible results.

Which Areas of the Body Can Be Treated?

As a part of high definition procedures, patients most commonly have liposuction of the arms, chest, abdomen, back, flanks, and thighs. The Vaser sculpting tools can remove fat in certain places to sculpt underlying muscles. Six-pack, obliques, lats, pecs, biceps, triceps, and deltoids are all muscles that can be highlighted.

As much as liposculpting is about removing fat, it’s also about what you leave behind to create precise highlights and shadows on the skin. That’s why fat transfer is utilized in conjunction with liposuction. Men commonly have fat transferred to their shoulders, chest, and buttocks to create a more muscular appearance.

Women have fat transferred to their buttocks and sometimes breasts to augment the size and reshape to the area.

In conjunction with hi-def liposuction, women may also choose to undergo a breast augmentation, breast lift, and/or a tummy tuck at the same time.

Vaser Lipo Before and After

Vaser High Definition Liposuction San Francisco

Recovery from Hi-Def Liposuction

Vaser High Definition Liposuction in San FranciscoThe recovery process is different for everyone. The number of areas of the body that were treated is also a factor that determines total recovery time and how much time away from work and usual activities you may need. You should expect to take at least one week off from work.

Immediately after surgery, you will be placed into a compression garment.

You will have drains placed during surgery to help remove unwanted fluid from beneath the skin.

You can expect some swelling, bruising and discomfort for the first few days following surgery.

Dr. Sieber highly recommends working with a lymphatic massage therapist to help ensure the best possible outcome after vaser liposuction surgery.

You will need to refrain from any vigorous activity for the first 2 weeks.

What Is the Cost of Vaser Liposuction?

Patients often want to know: “Is Vaser Lipo expensive?”

The answer is yes and no. Yes, because plastic surgery procedures in general can be pricey. Health insurance does not cover most of them, which means nearly all patients are paying out of pocket. Additionally, because this procedure uses more advanced technology than traditional liposuction, the cost of Vaser liposuction is generally higher than that of traditional lipo.

Still, the Vaser Liposuction cost difference when compared to traditional lipo is usually small. Vaser lipo typically costs only slightly more than traditional liposuction.

In addition, when compared to some other procedures such as Brazilian butt lifts or mommy makeovers, Vaser Liposuction is not as expensive.

View our before-and-after photo galleries to see the results our Vaser High Definition Liposuction patients have achieved.

Vaser Hi-Def Lipo is best suited for those who are looking to contour and sculpt the body, instead of overall fat reduction. Liposuction is not meant for weight loss or a substitute for a healthy lifestyle.

Patients will keep the effects of hi-def as long as they maintain a healthy, stable weight. Any weight loss, weight gain, pregnancy, or childbirth after the procedure will alter the results.

Vaser hi-def liposuction takes standard liposuction to the next level of results.  Hi-def lipo is commonly referred to as liposculpture because as fat is removed in certain areas, a little is left in others.

This strategic removal of fat allows Dr. Sieber to expose the underlying muscles like the abs, pecs, back, and shoulders, while slimming the waist and torso. It can make an already fit person appear to have a more sculpted and athletic appearance.

After hi-def liposuction, a thin layer of fat will be left in areas that naturally have muscles underneath such as the shoulders, chest, arms, and abs. This will be juxtaposed to areas where fat is completely removed, creating highlights and shadows to enhance your natural anatomy. This means more defined arms, shoulders, abdomen, back, legs, and calves.

Dr. Sieber recommends wearing a compression garment 24 hours a day (ok to remove it to shower) for the first 4 weeks after surgery, then continue the compression garment for an additional 8 weeks wearing it for 12 hours a day (either during the day or while sleeping).

The short answer is yes! lymphatic massages will help to remove any excess fluid from the tissue, reducing the time you will experience swelling and expediting healing. Liposuction can disturb the lymphatic system, causing the pooling of lymphatic fluids. Massage helps to return this fluid back into the circulation where it belongs.

Mini Brazilian Butt Lift

Body

Mini BBL San Francisco

By now we have all heard of a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL). Despite the benefits of increased butt size and butt shape, not everyone wants to be known for a certain asset. Because Dr. David Sieber sees a population of athletic and fit patients, he developed the Mini BBL.

Patients commonly wonder if they are candidates for a BBL because they are already thin with a lower body fat percentage. A traditional BBL usually requires larger volumes of harvested fat in order to create a dramatic increase in butt shape and size.

A mini bbl takes any available fat from areas like the abdomen, back, flanks, inner thighs, and arms which is then transferred to specific areas of the butt such as the hip dips or to provide a more overall athletic shape.

What is a Mini BBL

A mini Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is a less invasive version of the traditional Brazilian Butt Lift procedure. The mini BBL involves using liposuction to remove excess fat from one or more areas of the body, such as the abdomen, flanks, or thighs, and then transferring a smaller amount of that fat to the buttocks to enhance their shape and size.

Unlike the traditional BBL, the mini BBL is performed using smaller incisions and requires less fat to be harvested and injected. This means that the procedure is less invasive and generally has a shorter recovery time. Additionally, because less fat is removed and injected, the results of a mini BBL may be more subtle than those of a traditional BBL.

Mini BBL Technique

During a mini-BBL Dr. Sieber will use either traditional or Vaser assisted liposuction to remove any excess fat from areas such as the arms, chest, abdomen, back, flanks, and thighs.

He begins by making multiple small (5mm) incisions in concealed areas of the body. A saline solution containing lidocaine and epinephrine is then infiltrated into the areas to be treated. This is to help facilitate fat removal, prevent bleeding, and helps with post-operative pain control.

Using either Vaser or SAFE liposuction, fat is then separated from the body and removed through the small incisions. The fat is collected, cleaned and mixed with antibiotics before being re-injected into the butt.

Recovery from Mini Brazilian Butt Lift

Mini BBL recovery time will follow a very precisely prescribed treatment plan relating mostly to care of the areas which underwent liposuction. You are not allowed to sit directly on the areas which were injected with fat for the first 2 weeks after surgery.

Immediately after surgery, you will be placed into a compression garment which will be worn 24/7 for the first two days after surgery. After two days, it may be removed it’s ok to start showering.

Dr. Sieber will also have you work with a lymphatic massage therapist to help ensure the best possible outcome after surgery You can expect some swelling, bruising, and discomfort for the first few days following surgery.

A good diet, plenty of water, adherence to your compression, and lymphatic massage will help to expedite your recovery.

After the surgery you will need to refrain from any rigorous activity for the first 2 weeks.

You may begin to perform light exercise 2 weeks after your surgery and may gradually increase your activity as you tolerate. Continuing with a healthy diet and active lifestyle after your procedure will help to further enhance your surgical results.

Mini BBL Cost in San Francisco?

The cost of a mini Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) can vary depending on a variety of factors, including the surgeon’s expertise, the geographical location of the practice, and the extent of the procedure.  The mini BBL cost typically includes the surgeon’s fees, anesthesia, and facility fees.

However, it’s important to note that the cost may not include pre-operative medical testing, post-operative garments, or other related expenses or if done in conjunction with another procedure like tummy tuck. Call for Pricing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much fat do I need to get see a noticeable difference?

Each patient is different and has different goals for the procedure. Not everyone is a candidate during for a mini-BBL and Dr. Sieber will be able to tell you during the consultation whether or not this is a procedure for you.

How much of the transferred fat will survive?

Typically during fat transfer procedures, 50%-75% of the transferred fat will survive. Due to swelling in the post-operative period, it will take 8-12 weeks before you see the final results.

What exactly can I expect after Hi-Def Vaser Assisted Liposuction?

After hi-def lipsuction, a thin layer of fat will be left in areas that naturally have muscles underneath such as the shoulders, chest, and abs. This will be juxtaposed to areas where fat is completely removed, creating highlights and shadows to enhance your natural anatomy. It creates a natural athletic and muscular appearance to the areas which were treated.

How much fat do you need for a mini BBL?

On average, patients generally require approximately one liter (1000cc) of harvested fat to achieve a noticeable BBL outcome. Some surgeons advise transferring between 200ccs to 800ccs of fat for each buttock. It’s important to note that around 25% of the transplanted fat may not survive post-transfer.

How long will I have to wear compression after surgery?

Dr. Sieber recommends wearing compression for 24/7 for the first 4 weeks after surgery. The compression can be removed to shower as need. It is then worn for an additional 8 week either at night or during the day. The compression helps to reduce swelling and bruising and also smooths the skin after liposuction.

Are lymphatic massages really necessary?

The short answer is yes! lymphatic massages will help to remove any excess fluid from the tissue, expediating the time you will experience swelling. It also helps to prevent lumps and bumps underneath the skin known as contour irregularities. These treatments are typically stated after your first postoperative visit.

What is the difference between mini BBL vs BBL?

Mini BBL vs BBL, The are very similar however, mini BBL distinctively involves extracting smaller fat volumes via liposuction and transferring lesser amounts. Unlike the common 360 Lipo and BBL procedures that often transfer 800 to 1200 mL of fat.

How much should I weigh if I want a BBL?

Understanding this is crucial, as higher BMI correlates with increased surgical risks. Prime candidates for a Brazilian Butt Lift usually fall within the upper range of normal weight (18.5 – 24.9) to overweight (25.0 – 29.9).

Body Contouring San Francisco

Body Contouring San Francisco

Long-term weight loss, whether through diet, exercise, or weight-loss surgery, is a major accomplishment and one that should make a person feel quite proud. Unfortunately, many patients who have had major, successful weight loss still find that their clothes don’t fit the way they had hoped and that they still don’t like the outward appearance of their bodies due to the excess skin left behind on their arms, legs, torso and/or buttocks.

After massive weight loss, the skin and tissues often lack elasticity and cannot conform to the smaller body size. For these individuals, the fat is gone, but the remnants of their former, larger selves remains.

Many different areas of the body can be addressed and improved with body contouring, including the face, neck, breasts, arms, torso, and thighs.

What is Body Contouring?

Body contouring, or body sculpting, can help eliminate fat, re-shape areas of your body and tighten skin. Surgical options include Tummy tucks, lifts and liposuction. Surgery has more risks and longer recovery, but it usually provides more noticeable results.

Am I a Good Candidate?

Patients who are good candidates for body contouring procedures should be in good general health and have maintained their goal weight for at least six months. This is because weight fluctuations could negatively impact the surgical outcome.

A consultation with Dr. David Sieber can help determine whether you’re a good candidate, and together you can develop a plan for addressing the loose skin that’s left around your body. Because patients with several areas of excess skin won’t be able to have surgeries on each area all at once for safety reasons, Dr. Sieber will help to determine the best plan of action based on your body and lifestyle.

The goal is to prioritize the areas that bother you the most and safely combine surgeries that work well together. The end result is a bodily transformation that will reflect the inner transformation you’ve already undergone.*

Body Contouring Technique

During your consultation Dr. Sieber will have discussed with you the procedures necessary to achieve your aesthetic goals. These procedures may include:

  • An arm lift to correct sagging of the upper arms
  • A lower body lift to correct sagging of the abdomen, groin, outer thighs and buttocks
  • A thigh lift to correct sagging of the inner, outer, and mid thigh

In most of these procedures, large incisions are cut into the skin, the excess skin is removed completely and then the skin is pulled tight to its new position.

All-over body contouring can be a time-consuming process. While some surgeries can be combined, such as procedures to address saggy breasts and loose abdominal skin, body contouring usually requires several surgeries spread out over time because patients should be under anesthesia for no longer than 5 to 6 hours at a time due to the increased risk of complications.

Additionally, certain procedures will also include liposuction to remove nagging pockets of fat that aren’t affected by diet or exercise. This can lengthen the surgery and add time to recovery as well.

Body Contouring Before and After

Body Contouring in San Francisco Bay Area

Scarring After Body Contouring Surgery

The reality of body contouring surgeries after massive weight loss is that they necessitate removing large amounts of excess skin, which is why many body contouring patients are especially concerned with scarring.

When patients consider the alternative, which is saggy skin that is emotionally tough to deal with, can interfere with exercise and make daily life more difficult, the trade-off is absolutely worth it. Although there may be scars, patients who undergo body contouring surgery experience improvements in comfort and self-confidence that can last a lifetime.*

That being said, Dr. Sieber understands the unique emotional effect of weight-loss related loose skin, so he employs several strategies to ensure the best possible scar outcome. For example, whenever possible, Dr. Sieber will place the scars in the most inconspicuous areas of the body that can be concealed by clothing. He also uses the finest incision lines possible, and offers his patients a post-operative scar therapy program which can help to reduce the appearance of scars.*

The placement and appearance of scars, the sequence of surgeries, and the addition of liposuction will all be discussed in detail with Dr. Sieber during your consultation. Any additional concerns or questions you have, right up to your surgery date, will also be addressed.

Preparing for Body Contouring Surgery

Surgery is intensive and requires an enormous amount of healing over long periods of time, especially in the case of those who need multiple surgeries. That’s why it’s important to prepare your body so that you can optimize the healing process.

Contouring is a major surgery, so you should consult with your primary care physician and discontinue medications and supplements that can increase the risk of bleeding. These should be stopped, with your primary doctor’s permission, two weeks before surgery. If you’re unsure, consult with Dr. Sieber with any questions.

Recovery from Body Contouring Surgery

Depending on the specific procedure you’re having, Dr. Sieber may decide that it is necessary to place a temporary drain under the skin. Although a drain can feel like a nuisance, it helps to reduce the accumulation of fluid in the areas where skin was removed and will aid in healing. The drain is typically removed within the first week after surgery.

You will need to wear a compression garment at all times for the first couple of months after your procedure. This helps to reduce swelling, as well as protecting your incision and reducing fluid accumulation.

Particularly with extensive procedures, you will feel very sore and uncomfortable for at least the first few days, and strenuous activity will be off-limits for at least several weeks until your body is adequately healed.

Continue eating a healthy, nutrient-rich diet, and be sure that you don’t allow how you might be feeling to impact your recovery. Some patients, feeling bored or tired during their recovery may be inclined to eat unhealthy snacks. Other patients find their appetite for food is not strong after body contouring surgery, and may not be eating enough nutritious, high-protein food to heal properly. Therefore it’s important to be mindful of nutrition and to continue eating healthy foods so that the body has the fuel it needs.

Bay Area San Francisco Body Contouring

Body Contouring cost in San Francisco

Each person’s situation is unique, so for an accurate price quote, an in-person consultation with Dr. Sieber is necessary so that he can examine you, discuss your concerns and determine exactly which procedures he recommends. For many people who have had dramatic weight loss, loose skin is truly everywhere on their body, so several surgeries are usually needed.

The cost of body contouring in San Francisco Bay area can vary widely depending on the type of equipment, the length of the procedure, and other factors. Health insurance plans may not cover body contouring surgery or its complications, but many plastic surgeons offer patient financing plans, so be sure to ask.

Frequently Asked Questions

Body contouring is not a weight-loss surgery. While you may lose some weight if you have an extensive amount of extra skin, or if your procedure includes liposuction, the best time to have body contouring (or any post weight-loss surgery) is when you’ve reached your goal weight and have maintained it for at least six months.

Each person is different and the formation of scars has a genetic component to it and depends on the quality and look of your skin before surgery; some people scar more easily than others. Typically body contouring procedures involve removing large amounts of skin so you should have realistic expectations and understand that although Dr. Sieber does his best to create the smallest scars possible as well as conceal them in hard to see places, you may still have visible scars when wearing certain garments.

Because body contouring is very involved, it takes quite a long time to perform. It’s unsafe for the total surgery time to exceed five hours, so surgical body contouring must be done in segments and broken into multiple procedures over time. This reduces the risk of post-operative complications from surgery and anesthesia. Additionally, the recovery process can be a long and painful one, so it’s better to be strategic with the order of surgeries and focus all of your healing efforts on one or two areas at a time.

The ideal place to start depends on a number of factors, including which area bothers you the most, how much time you can take off work for recovery, and the cost of the procedure. Dr. Sieber will work with you to go over your options during your initial consultation. You may find that after speaking with the doctor, a different area than the one bothering you the most will be better to start with from a strategic standpoint.

The total weight of the skin removed will depend entirely on the patient. During your initial consultation, Dr. Sieber will examine you to determine where on your body you’ll have skin removed.

Body contouring can help you eliminate fat and shape areas of your body when diet and exercise aren’t working. Being at your ideal weight improves quality of the results with lower complications.

Brazilian Butt Lift San Francisco

Body

Brazilian Butt Lift San Francisco Bay Area

Butts come in all shapes and sizes. Some of us are lucky enough to be born with the derrière of our dreams, but many more are not. Diet and exercise can shape our bodies to a certain degree, but our genetics, skeletal structure and how and where our bodies store fat will ultimately determine the size and shape of our buttocks.

To overcome these genetic limitations, many individuals who wish to improve the fullness and appearance of their posterior opt for a Brazilian butt lift procedure, or BBL. This is a surgical procedure designed to help reshape and restore volume to the buttocks.*

In addition to improving the look of the posterior, Brazilian Butt Lift BBL often have the added benefit of making other areas of the body, such as the waist and stomach, appear more toned since fat grafting from areas with a surplus.*

WHAT IS A BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT?

Essentially two surgeries in one, the Brazilian butt lift (BBL) works by taking unwanted fat from one area of the body and transferring it to the butt. A BBL usually starts with liposuction, which harvests the fat from another part of the body also known as fat transfer. The most common areas treated with liposuction are the abdomen, flanks, back, inner thighs, and arms.

Dr. Sieber is an expert in traditional liposuction and high-definition liposuction. This part of the procedure helps to establish the waistline and give shape to the upper portion of the buttocks as well as the legs and thighs.

Once the fat has been removed, it is cleaned, processed to remove impurities and excess fluids, and mixed with an antibiotic irrigation. The fat is then strategically injected to shape and contour the buttocks to achieve the desired look. Due to patient safety issues, the fat is never injected into the muscle as there are multiple studies showing that intramuscular injection of fat can be dangerous.

Brazilian Butt Lift Before and After

AM I A GOOD BBL CANDIDATE ?

With the rise in social media and photo editing apps, it’s common to see images of women with voluptuous booties and tiny waists, but oftentimes these photos are digitally altered and not realistic in real life. Therefore, you should have realistic expectations of what a Brazilian butt lift can and can’t do for your body.

The best Brazilian butt lift candidates will be in good health, have adequate fat stores from which fat can be harvested to transfer to the buttocks, have good skin tone in the hips and butt, and be able to take adequate time off and not sit directly on their butts for at least two weeks.

It’s important to note that Brazilian butt lift don’t address loose skin on the buttocks or thighs, so if that is a concern, a thigh lift may be a better option.

Brazilian Butt Lift TECHNIQUE

In this outpatient procedure, Dr. Sieber, San Francisco Plastic Surgeon, will use liposuction to harvest unwanted excess fat from certain areas on your body, usually the flanks, hips, back, and/or stomach, and carefully place it into your backside.

This dual procedure can help create not only a shapelier backside, but it can also help define the appearance of the parts of your body where the excess fat was taken.* Each procedure is unique and based on the needs and desires of the patient, but many procedures are designed to create a rounded, lifted, and shapelier buttocks.*

BBL or Brazilian Butt Lift is a major surgery, but it’s important to remember that you cannot expect to get great results by having a quick procedure with little downtime. Although the procedure is major, Dr. Sieber provides a regimented post-operative protocol, which will ensure you heal as quickly as possible.

It’s also important to note that not all of the fat transfer to your butt during surgery will survive. About 50 to 75% of the excess  cells will survive. Your body will naturally reabsorb and eliminate the rest.

Newly transferred fat cells are somewhat fragile and need to be as undisturbed as possible so that they can establish their own new blood supply and stay put where they were transferred to.

BBL San Francisco Bay Area

More BBL Before and After images

Brazilian Butt Lift RECOVERY

For the first two weeks during your Brazilian butt lift (BBL) recovery, sitting directly on your butt may affect the ability of the fat cells to “take,” meaning fewer will survive. Sitting directly on your butt may kill some of the fat cells you need to create the shape you are hoping for, adversely affecting your results.

Because you will not be able to sit directly on your butt for the first 2 weeks after the procedure, you will need to sleep on your stomach or side. When watching TV or working on the computer, lie on your stomach or rest on your hip. You can roll up a towel or yoga mat placed under the thighs to place pressure on the thighs instead of your butt.

Some patients buy a “donut” seat or Boppy pillow for sitting. Normal activity is typically allowed after 8 weeks or so.

You will likely experience a fair amount of swelling in your butt right after surgery, but this should begin subsiding within 48-72 hours. You will likely have extensive bruising and swelling in the area or areas where liposuction and fat transfer was performed, so you’ll need to wear a foam vest and compression garment over those areas for at least 6-8 weeks after the surgery.

Dr. Sieber also recommends that patients receive lymphatic drainage massages starting the day after surgery to maximize healing, reduce swelling, and minimize fibrosis.

Immediately after Brazilian butt lift surgery, the more time you’re able to spend on your feet, the better. You’ll be able to resume light cardio a couple of weeks after surgery and more strenuous exercise about a month after the procedure. At six weeks post-surgery, you’ll be released to full activities.

Questions and Answers

I have a really flat butt. Will a Brazilian butt lift help give me more of a boost?

A Brazilian butt lift surgery can not only enhance the shape, but it can create the ideal body shape if you’re unhappy with what you have now.*

I’m very thin, and I don’t think I have enough fat to transfer to my butt. Are there other options?

In slimmer patients, some extra fat can be collected from the arms and inner and outer thighs. However, if you don’t have enough excess fat for your procedure, there is a higher risk of contour irregularities from the liposuction vs fat transfer.

For those who are very lean with not enough to fat transfer, skinny BBL or mini BBL may be the only way to achieve the desired aesthetic.

Other treatments such as Sculptra injections are also available to thinner patients. Although not as dramatic as fat transfer, Sculptra can create subtle refinements in the shape of the butt.

What can I do to maximize the amount of fat that will survive after my Brazilian butt lift?

The most important thing to do is to follow San Francisco Bay Area Dr. Sieber’s post-operative instructions, found above. Avoid putting direct pressure on your butt for at least the first two weeks, wear the proper compression garments to reduce swelling, and eat enough calories to sustain your body through the healing phase.

To have the best chance of long-lasting results, maintain a healthy diet and active exercise program after surgery. The patients who are the most unhappy after surgery are those who tend to gain weight.

Remember that the new fat transfer will behave like the rest of the fat in your body and are susceptible to weight fluctuations, which could impact the final Brazilian butt lift results.

How long will my Brazilian butt lift last?

Although the butt will naturally change over time due to aging and gravity, a Brazilian butt lift has long-lasting results because the body is being reshaped by transferring fat cells from one area to another.

You can maintain and extend your results by keeping your weight stable and living a healthy lifestyle. Fluctuations in weight can affect the volume in the butt and change the results.

If I can’t sit on my butt, how am I supposed to rest or sleep?

It may seem daunting to avoid sitting for several weeks, but there are a few tips and tricks! For example, you can roll up a towel or yoga mat and place it under your thighs when you sit. This removes the pressure from your butt and places it onto your thighs. There are several butt pillows on the market as well. You can rest or sleep on your stomach or side (as long as fat wasn’t transferred to your hips).

What is the difference of butt implants vs BBL?

Butt implants are intended to be permanent, yet replacement may be necessary due to complications or dissatisfaction. BBL outcomes are often enduring, but weight fluctuations can impact results as it utilizes your own fat.

Are BBL worth it?

BBL offers a more natural appearance than Butt Implants as it uses the patient’s own fat. This ensures results closely align with the individual’s body type and skin tone. Moreover, BBL enables precise shaping and contouring of the buttocks.

How much should I weigh to get a BBL?

Ideal candidates for a Brazilian butt lift typically fall within the range of near-average weight (BMI 18.5-24.9) to overweight (BMI 25.0-29.9). Those classified as obese (BMI 30.0 or above) may be advised to lose a modest amount of weight for a healthier recovery process.

Hand Rejuvenation San Francisco Bay Area

Don’t let your hands give away your age! So many of us are focused on our face and our chest that we forget about our hands. The skin on our hands is not only delicate, but it’s often exposed to the elements. Sun, wind and cold can really wreak havoc on the look and appearance of your hands.

Furthermore, just like on the face, we lose volume in our hands over time. This results is prominent, ropey looking veins and tendons that can make you look and feel years older than you are. Thankfully, there are a number of cosmetic procedures on the market today that can help address the early signs of aging and rejuvenate hands.*

What is Hand Rejuvenation

Hand rejuvenation refers to a combination of procedures that are used to restore a more youthful appearance to the hands. As we age, our hands lose volume, become thinner and develop wrinkles, age spots, and other imperfections.

Hand rejuvenation procedures can include the use of fillers to restore volume, laser treatments to remove age spots, and chemical peels to improve skin texture.

Patient Testimonials

Si3ber Plastic Surgery is the only place I will go for my filler. My injector Sally is incredibly talented at her craft and is very honest about what can and cannot be achieved through injectables and other treatments. She gives realistic expectations and her results are amazing but also very natural. (Thank you Sally!)Her assistant Kat is phenomenal. She helps in the process to make injections MUCH more comfortable through a series of light tapping techniques and fanning.

I hate the online review system and only post if I have something positive to say. Sally makes that very easy. She is so talented in what she does and gives you an honest and educated opinion on how to proceed with Botox and fillers.
But she also manages to make you feel good about the way you look already which I really appreciate.

So very pleased with the results of my filler and botox appointment. Everything was explained beforehand as to what to expect, and things were done efficiently. Very thorough in listening and answering my questions. I am thrilled with the results.
I will be going back to get treatments from Sally, PA in the future! She is a real artist with the face!

Hand Rejuvenation Technique

Hand Rejuvenation San FranciscoEliminating the excess pigment, sun spots and dullness on the hands may require 3-4 treatments with the laser. The treatment is fast with little to no downtime, but you need to be vigilant afterwards about wearing a UV sunscreen.* During the same appointment, Dr. Sieber can use fillers to plump up the backs of your hands for a fuller look.* Again, treatment with fillers is an in office, simple procedure.

However, fat grafting to your hands is a bit more invasive as it requires liposuction from another area to harvest the fat cells. This body enhancement procedure is typically done in an operating room as a same day surgery.

Commonly, hand rejuvenation using fat grafting is performed in conjunction with facial rejuvenation surgery such as a facelift.

Preparing for Hand Rejuvenation Treatment

As with any major surgery at Sieber Plastic Surgery in San Francisco, all medications and supplements which cause an increased risk of bleeding should be stopped 2 weeks prior to surgery. Please see our list of medications and supplements to avoid. As always, make sure to check with your doctor before stopping any medications.

Hand Rejuvenation Surgery Recovery

Recovery time for hand rejuvenation can vary depending on the specific procedure performed. Non-invasive procedures such as injectable fillers or laser treatments generally have little to no downtime, with patients able to resume normal activities immediately following treatment.

More invasive procedures such as fat transfer or surgical hand rejuvenation may require more downtime. Patients may experience swelling, bruising, and discomfort in the days following the procedure, and should avoid strenuous activities for several weeks.

Hand Rejuvenation Cost in San Francisco

The cost of hand rejuvenation in San Francisco can vary depending on several factors, such as the type of treatment, the geographic location of the provider, and the extent of the procedure.

Some of the most common hand rejuvenation treatments include:
Dermal fillers: Injectable fillers can be used to plump up the skin on the hands, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and adding volume. Call for pricing.

Chemical peels: Chemical peels can be used to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the growth of new skin. Call for pricing.

Laser treatments: Laser treatments can be used to reduce the appearance of age spots and sun damage on the hands.  Call for pricing.

It is important to note that these are just estimates, and the actual cost of hand rejuvenation will depend on your individual needs and the specific treatments recommended by your provider. It is recommended to consult with a qualified provider for a personalized quote.

Frequently Asked Questions

Using filler or fat grafting on the back of your hands can conceal the appearance of visible veins and tendons.*

Most patients find that they have a significant reduction in their sun spots after 1-3 treatments.* The quality of your skin can be maintained by having maintenance BBL laser treatments every 3-6 months.*

According to Dr. Sieber, “filler and fat grafting are the most effective treatments for restoring lost volume and reducing wrinkled skin by stimulating collagen.”

Modern cosmetic procedures can enhance the youthful look of your hands. By utilizing fillers like Juvederm® or Restylane®, our surgeons can restore and rejuvenate the natural volume of the hands, creating a smoother, more youthful appearance. Alternatively, for longer-lasting results, fat transfer to the hands is also an option.
