Allura Laser Liposuction
San Francisco Allura Laser Liposuction
Lasers have been around since the 80’s but recently have become a more important component of surgical and minimally invasive procedures. Many non-surgical devices such as CoolSculpting, Kybella, and TruSculpt are used to remove unwanted fat in smaller areas such as the chin/neck, bra fat, thighs, and abdomen. Although these procedures do succeed at reducing unwanted fat, they often require multiple treatments and none of them work to help tighten skin. Allura Laser Liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure which not only destroys and removes unwanted fat, but also tightens loose skin in a single procedure. Allura excels in areas such as jawline contouring and reduction of neck fat.
Allura Laser Liposuction Improvements
Allura works best in contouring, small areas of the body. This procedure will result in:
- Fat reduction and skin tightening of the neck, jawline, bra roll, abdomen, inner thighs

Allura Laser Liposuction Technique
Allura can be performed either under local or general anesthesia depending on the size of the treatment areas and patient desires.
The procedure begins by making multiple small (2-3mm) incisions in concealed areas of the body. A saline solution containing lidocaine and epinephrine is then infiltrated into the areas to be treated. This is to help facilitate fat removal, prevent bleeding, and helps with post-operative pain control. Allura is then used to heat up and destroy unwanted fat. Destroyed fat is then removed through the same incisions. Next, Allura is used to tighten any loose skin using a laser to heat and contract the underside of the skin. After surgery, light compression is applied to the treatment areas to help reduce post-procedural swelling.
During your pre-operative visits, Dr. Sieber will work with you to determine exactly which body areas you want to be treated and whether or not you are a good candidate for this procedure.
Preparing for Allura Laser Liposuction
As with any major surgery, all medications and supplements which cause an increased risk of bleeding should be stopped 2 weeks prior to surgery. Please see our list of medications and supplements to avoid. As always, make sure to check with your doctor before stopping any medications.
Recovery from Allura
Recovery from Allura can vary depending on the size and number of areas treated. For small areas such as the neck/jawline, the recovery should be relatively quick. There will be some minor bruising and swelling immediately after the procedure which should resolve over the next 3-5 days after the procedure. You will be wearing compression immediately after the procedure which will be worn all the time for the first 3 days, then only at night for a total of 2 weeks. The compression helps to reduce swelling and bruising.
After the surgery you will need to refrain from any rigorous activity for the first 2 weeks. Starting activities too soon after surgery may put you at risk for bleeding. You may begin to perform light exercise 2 weeks after your surgery and may gradually increase your activity as you tolerate. Continuing with a healthy diet and active lifestyle after your procedure will help to further enhance your surgical results.
Allura Laser Liposuction FAQs
Q: How many Allura treatments before I see results?
A: Most body areas only require a single treatment. Allura differs compared to other non-surgical procedures in that nearly all unwanted fat can be removed in a single procedure.
Q: How long will it take before I see results?
A: You will notice a reduction in fat immediately after the procedure. It may take 3-4 weeks for swelling to completely resolve and may take 8-12 weeks before skin tightening is more evident. Healing takes time, so be patient during this period.
Q: Why is Allura better than other treatments for the neck/jawline?
A: Allura excels in that it is able to remove unwanted fat as well as tighten the skin in a single procedure. Because Allura only requires a single treatment, you will only need to plan for a single period of downtime.
Q: Is it more cost-effective to have Allura or other treatments?
A: Even though Allura is a more expensive upfront cost because it is only a single treatment, the overall cost will be less compared to other non-surgical treatments that require multiple sessions.
