What Is CoolSculpting?
No one likes fat, and not everyone likes surgery or downtime. CoolSculpting is the ideal compromise for those desiring to treat stubborn areas without the recovery associated with surgery. The procedure has become the leading technology for noninvasive fat loss in the market today.
CoolSculpting uses a technology called cryolipolysis to freeze your fat cells. Each treatment causes an approximate 20% reduction in fat. Once the fat cells are permanently destroyed, they are harmlessly removed from your body.
It’s possible that you are not a good candidate for CoolSculpting. During your consultation, Dr. Sieber can tell you if CoolSculpting will benefit you. Luckily, if you’re not a candidate, Dr. Sieber will be able to recommend other treatment options to help you achieve your goals.
What Areas Does CoolSculpting Treat?
There aren’t many areas that CoolScuplting can’t treat, including:
- Bra line
- Inner and outer thighs
- Upper and lower abdomen
How Does CoolSculpting Work?
During your procedure, your fat is suctioned into a cup, which freezes and permanently destroys the cells over a 35-60 minute period. For the first 10 minutes of the treatment, you will experience mild discomfort that feels similar to putting your hand into freezing water. Once the applicator is removed, you will feel a slight burning and tingling sensation in your skin that will last for a few hours.
What’s The Recovery Like?
After treatment, you may experience numbness, bruising and swelling, which may last for several days. It will take 8-12 weeks before you notice your final results, so patience is paramount after your CoolSculpting treatment.

Q: How many treatments does CoolSculpting require for each area?
A: The number of treatments you need depends on how much fat you have in each treatment area. Some patients require just a single treatment while others may need multiple treatments to achieve the results they want.
Q: What if I have extra skin and fat? Will CoolSculpting help to shrink my skin?
A: CoolScupting is approved only for fat loss and has not been proven to shrink skin. Consulting with a physician will provide you with an honest assessment and guide you towards the best treatment option. Certain patients are better candidates for surgery than for CoolSculpting. Dr. Sieber can give you more information during your consultation.
Q: What if CoolSculpting doesn’t work?
A: The main reason CoolSculpting doesn’t work is that it was performed on a patient who was not a good candidate. Dr. Sieber only believes in technologies which he knows work. He also wants to make sure you get the best results possible, so he’ll tell you whether CoolSculpting would benefit you.
